A very effective breathing exercise that I recommend to many clients is called "Four Count Breathing".
The concept is very easy to grasp and you can use this tool anytime you are feeling stress or anxiety creep up on you.
Take a deep breath in your nose for a count of four
Hold that breath for a count of four
Release the breath for a count of four
And repeat four times
You can do this as often as you need to until your heart rate goes back to back to it's normal pace.
Additionally focusing on breathing out the stress and breathing in peace will increase the effects.
